I want to make it easy for you to get the help you need to remodel and redecorate your home - without overspending, without undue stress, and without making costly mistakes.
To help you, I offer four ways to access my services:

- The Home Helpdesk for inexpensive over-the-phone advice
- A regular hourly fee
- Package rates for small projects (under 10 hours)
- Volume discounts for large projects (over 10 hours)
You may choose whichever option works best for you.
The Home Helpdesk
If you're brand-new to the idea of redecorating or remodeling, or starting a project so new that you really don't know what you want, the Home Helpdesk may provide a very affordable way to get started. Email me and make an appointment for a Saturday morning, and I will help you sort out your options, provide ball park cost ranges for common projects, and consider alternative ways of upgrading your space.
If you're handy with a digital camera, I can also give you pointers on specific rooms without scheduling a site visit; you simply email the photos to me or upload them to a website like Flickr. I even did one Helpdesk consultation with tech-savvy software engineer who filmed a video tour of his new apartment with audio commentary. We watched the video together and I then gave him advice on solving the problems he had pointed out.
Regular Hourly Rate
My regular hourly rate for in-person consulting and studio design work (including layouts, computer visualizations, plans and shopping) is $125 per hour. Travel time for site visits is added to the hourly total, and partial hours are billed in 15-minute increments.
Small Job Flat Fee
If you need less than 10 hours of consulting/design time, I may be able to offer you a flat fee for the service you are seeking. A number of commonly requested jobs -- color consulting for a single room, design of a window treatment, and selection of new flooring, for example -- fall into this category. There's no charge to phone and ask whether your job would qualify for a flat fee.
Large Job Volume Discount
I am pleased to be able to discount my hourly fee or offer a day rate for larger jobs. (I can do this because larger jobs involve less commuting, billing, and promotional overhead for me.) The first hour of consulting is also free with commitments for 10 or more hours of consulting time.
